Just found another website that is similar to what VirusTotal can do. Actually this site’s malware scanning service started nearly two years ago but I only got to know about it.
Virus.org Malware Scanning Service scans uploaded files with several common Anti-Virus tools to attempt to determine if the uploaded file is in fact some form of Malware. The virus definition are updated on an hourly basis to make sure they always have the latest definition. I very often use these services to scan any suspicious files that I downloaded or received from friends.

Virus.org is able to scan file that is no bigger than 5MB with 23 types of antivirus programs. They are:
To scan a suspicious file, simple click the browse button to locate the file and then click Upload button. There is no real time status to tell you the progress of upload. There is also an Advance scan which you have to the option to have the results of the scan sent to you after the scan has completed. In normal upload, the file might be automatically distributed to anti-virus companies. In advanced scan, you have the option to disable that.

The results of service is by no means a 100% proof positive that a file is in fact some form of Malware. Likewise if this service says a file is clean, it does not again provide a 100% proof positive that a file is not Malware. It could be that the file you have uploaded is in fact a virus that currently is undetected by the virus scanners that we use to provide the service.
Now we have a total of 4 websites that can scan files with several anti-virus engines. VirusTotal, VirSCAN, Jotti’s Malware Scanner and Virus.org. They are all the same, except each with different maximum upload file size and also some has more antivirus engines. I’d say that VirusTotal is still the best because it has more features than the rest. If you know any more of these sites, please share it with me.
