Why is RapidShare so popular and everyone is using it despite the restrictions in free account? In my opinion, RapidShare can claim that they are “The world’s biggest 1-Click Webhoster” is because of their reliable download and upload speed. Whenever I download any files from RapidShare, I get to download in maximum speed. I am willing to wait for minutes or even hours to download the next files from RapidShare because whenever it starts to download, I know it will finish very soon. As for some other file hosting such as Megaupload, the download slot limit sucks, download speed is unbearably slow and I even get timeout when in the midst of downloading half way.
Since the only drawback of using RapidShare is the limited download-limit, why not we think or find a way to beat that restriction?
As far as I know, RapidShare recognizes your IP address. For example, you download a file that is 100MB from RapidShare, and when you try to download the next file no matter what file size, you’ll most probably have to wait for an hour to download the next file. If your ISP assigns dynamic IP address to you whenever you connect to the internet, you can just disconnect, reconnect and start downloading the second file. It’s still a bit troublesome to do that if you have quite a lot of files to download from RapidShare.
Team Codemasters or CMS in short has developed their own private software called The Grabber 1.4.4 that is able to bypass the download limit using proxies and embedded with many other useful features.
If you visit their forum, there are a lot of restrictions in order to download the latest The Grabber. You must register and join their forum and must have at least 5 posts in Downloads Zone (Software/Multimedia/e-Books/Games) to access and download the CMS tools thread.
With CMS The Grabber 1.4.4, you are able to simultaneously download multiple files using proxies. You can even prioritize your downloads with advanced built-in downloader Speed Limiter. Other built-in tools in CMS The Grabber 1.4.4 is:
The Grabber 1.4.4 is so easy to you and it only requires 5 steps from you to start downloading from RapidShare without limits.
1. Type your RapidShare download link to the first text box “RapidShare link”
2. Type in alive proxy address with port separated by a column (IP.IP.IP.IP:PORT) in Proxy text box. If you have more than 1 alive proxy address, click on the Edit button and enter your proxy address in the text file that appears.
3. Click on GRAB! button.
4. Type in the captcha code that you see. It is usually 3 characters(Sometimes I get 2).
5. Click on Download button to start downloading from RapidShare. I’ve tried sending the file to Download Manager FlashGet, and it doesn’t work. Perhaps RapidShare fixed this bug?
First of all, getting the latest version of The Grabber is quite difficult. I’ve tried very hard to search for the latest version of The Grabber which is 1.4.4 and I finally found it. It is not widely available.
Second, the original archive file for The Grabber is password protected.
Third, when you first run latest The Grabber 1.4.4, you are prompted to activate the product by entering Login and Password.
As you can see, to use this software, you need to go through so restrictions also. Good thing is you only need to go through the 3 restrictions ONCE. The second time you use it, you won’t be prompted to enter any password or activation.

Or another method to crack it is to run The Grabber 1.4.4 for the first time, close it. You will now see a new file called grabber.ini in the same location as Grabber.exe. Open it with notepad, and in [General], you will see setting. Replace the settings line with the code below and save grabber.ini.

Important Note: Make sure the 3 lines above is merged into ONE line when copied to grabber.ini
