I’ve always been someone who enjoys trying out new toys, new gadgets, new software, and testing it out to the max of it’s potential. I’ve also been one who enjoys finding useless trivial things to purchase with the money I make from my work place. Due to both of these ‘problems’, I’ve sometimes gotten infected in my eagerness to try something new. So for me, I’m in the need protection against a lot of different malware. For example, when I was younger and more foolish, I used to download a lot of warez, and used to get infected all the time. These days, I’m much wiser and don’t download any pirated software, resorting to using freewares, freebies, open source programs, or trials to get the job done. However, a good number of my friends don’t see this light and get themselves constantly infected, so it’s my job to clean up after them.
Recently, one of my friends was hit with a very bad virus that I’m sure we’ve all heard of at one point in our lives or another: Win32/Vundo. And being someone who lacks common sense in everything that he does, he went and downloaded even more viruses trying to fix it, one of them being the A variant of Win32/Conflicker. So imagine my shock and horror to discover all this swarming around on his PC and I was expected to fix this without a wipe and reload. On one of our forum member’s insistence, Leofelix, I was assured that there would be no problem in wiping out all this malware. And you know what?
He was right.
Hitman Pro is a powerful, cloud-based anti virus that has managed to prove it’s worth several times over since I’ve started carrying it around on my USB Recovery Stick. It has managed to get all of what I’d expect ESET (my present antivirus) to get, plus things that it misses. It doesn’t take very long to scan, taking a grand total of about ten minutes at the very most (what I had to sit though to clean that horrid PC) and manages to get everything I’ve tested on clean. It also will not conflict with your present antivirus because it is a completely on demand antivirus, and will do scans for free. To actually remove the malware requires the activation of the trial, but it isn’t so bad because of the fact that it is a 30 day trial. Yes, those are the logos of the antiviruses it uses: NOD32 Antivirus, Avira AntiVir, Prevx, G DATA Anti-Virus and formally, a-squared Anti-Malware, now known as Emsisoft Anti-Malware.
Special thanks to Leofelix, the one who recommended this amazing software to me, I’ve also received two Hitman Pro one year keys, so if you’re someone who constantly gets infected or know someone that does, this will come in handy for cleaning up those nasties.
