  • Scrolling Gmail in Internet Explorer Takes Up 99% CPU Problem

This is one problem I’ve been experiencing on my laptop for a long time. I have no problems signing in to Gmail and opening any mails in Internet Explorer. However, whenever I wanted to scroll down or up, Internet Explorer will hang for a few seconds and it will also take up 99% of the CPU usage. I never really cared about it because I am a Firefox user and Firefox don’t have that problem.

    Gmail hang in Internet Explorer

I do use Internet Explorer once in a while to check my other Gmail account as I don’t want to mess up my Firefox cookies. Finally I got fed up of the problem and I tried to look for the cause of the problem. At first I thought maybe this is could be a way Google is supporting Firefox but this problem only happens in my laptop and not at desktop. That gives me an idea that this problem is not caused by Gmail but by my Internet Explorer browser.

Before fixing anything on Internet Explorer, I noticed that I am able to revert back to the old version of Gmail by clicking Older Version hyperlink at the top right after logging in. The old version is meant for people with slow computer or internet connection so you can load Gmail faster.

    Setting Gmail to older version

Using the old version of Gmail solved the problem! Do take note that changing your Gmail to old version is not a permanent setting. Every time you log in back, you’ll have to manually click the Old Version hyperlink again if you want to use the old version. Although I found a solution, I am still not convinced that this is Gmail’s compatibility problem with Internet Explorer nor my laptop is slow to handle Gmail 2.0 (My laptop has 2GB of memory). I made sure the Internet Explorer at my laptop has the latest version and also all hotfixes installed but problem still exist. I figured that it could be Internet Explorer add-ons or plugins that is causing gmail slow problem. I open up Internet Explorer, went to Tools > Manage Add-ons > Enable or Disable Add-ons… I noticed that there were a few third party add-ons installed by FlashGet, FlashFXP, OrbitDownloader and Java. I tried disabling one by one add-ons and finally found that the culprit is FlashGet.

At first I ran FlashGet and went to Tools > Options > Monitor and uncheck Internet Explorer at Browser Clicks section.
    Disable Flashget Integration
By right disabling this feature should disable FlashGet integration with Internet Explorer but IE add-on’s window still shows that the add-on is loaded and it did not fix Gmail problem. Since this solution did not fix the problem, I had to manually disable the add-ons from Internet Explorer.

Run Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Manage Add-ons > Enable or Disable Add-ons… Select the following add-on name FGCatchUrl, FlashGet, FlashGet GetFlash Class and click Disable. Click OK and restart Internet Explorer. That should fix Gmail hang in Internet Explorer problem.

  • Remove Leftovers Driver From Your System

It’s very important to remove your drivers on a proper way, because driver leftovers can cause problems like stability and startup problems. I remembered many years ago I encountered a problem where I change from S3 graphics card to Nvidia. I installed the new drivers and after a reboot, all I got was a blank black screen. Then I tried booting into Safe Mode and I was able to get in. I immediately suspected that it has something to do with a driver file that auto loads on Windows startup.

I ran “msconfig” and found a S3 file being loaded whenever Windows is booted up. I removed that startup entry and I was able to boot in to Windows as normal.

If you’re a novice computer user, I understand that it might be a little too confusing for you to troubleshoot driver problems. So here’s a great tool for removing leftovers driver from your system.

Guru3D – Driver Sweeper is a fast tool to remove driver leftovers from your system.
    Completely uninstall driver
Driver Sweeper is only able to support drivers from NVIDIA (Display and Chipset), ATI (Display), Creative (Sound), Realtek (Sound), Ageia (PhysX) and Microsoft (Mouse). Although not much of driver is supported, but it can cover a lot of graphics card because a lot of people are either using NVIDIA or ATI video adapter.

All the settings are saved in an ini file. Nothing is created in the registry, so it’s possible to use it as a portable program. Log files can be saved to the harddisk and viewed as well. You can find the logs under the Tools menu.

The recommended way to use Driver Sweeper:
    1. Use the official uninstaller(s) of the driver(s) you want to uninstall.
    2. Use Driver Sweeper and select what to clean.
    3. Press the clean button.
    4. Reboot your PC.

Very useful, small and portable free tool. Driver Sweeper is tested on Windows 2000, XP and Vista on both 32-bit and 64-bit. Remember, this is not a tool to UNINSTALL your driver. It is a tool to remove LEFTOVERS files AFTER driver uninstallation.

  • Remove HotBar – Adware Spyware Removal Instructions

I remembered many years ago when Hotbar just existed and they offer a sleek cool skin for your Internet Explorer for free.
    Hotbar cleaner
Those days trojans and viruses are still circulating around the internet wildly and adwares and spywares doesn’t even exist. Today, it’s the other way round. Trojans and viruses can be easily blocked by antivirus softwares but spywares and adwares can easily infect a computer and tough to clean.

Out of curiousity, I went to Hotbar to check if they still offer skins for Internet Explorer. Downloaded Hotbar and no skins being replaced in my Internet Explorer browser. Only a Hotbar toolbar with a series of gold buttons appeared on my Internet Explorer browser.
    Hotbar removal

According to their web site, Hotbar enhances and personalizes your internet and e-mail applications. Most people use Hotbar to add smiley faces to their e-mail or to add colorful backgrounds to Internet Explorer (aka: “skins”). However, there are a few important facts you should be aware of:

      1. Hotbar is adware/spyware. It monitors all web sites you visit, collects information about your interests and habits, displays pop-up ads, and provides buttons and advertisements in its toolbar.
      2. Hotbar automatically updates itself from their web site without your approval. These updates can include new functionality that can by-pass security/privacy protection programs, and update the way it gathers information about you.
      3. Hotbar is not an official upgrade from Microsoft for Internet Explorer or Outlook.

Other than having a series of hotbar gold buttons appeared on my Internet Explorer browser, I also noticed a series of silver buttons in my Outlook and Outlook Express.
    Remove Hotbar Spyware

When I use my Outlook or Outlook Express to send an email to anyone, Hotbar will automatically append either of the images to the bottom of the message.
    Hotbar cleaner
    Or…
    Hotbar cleaner

Once in a while my Internet Explorer popups for no reason with ads! As you can see how annoying can Hotbar be compared to the few years back hotbar where they only skin your Internet Explorer to look nice.

To remove/clean/uninstall Hotbar, fortunately it’s not as nasty as other spywares such as Spy Sheriff or Look2Me.
You can either use the manual or automatic way to remove Hotbar from your computer.
    Remove Hotbar manually
    1. Click “Start“, “Settings” and choose “Control Panel“.
    2. Choose “Add/Remove Programs“.
    3. Find “Web Tools by Hotbar“.
    4. Click the “Add/Remove” button at the bottom right of the window.
    5. Check both browser and email toolbars
    6. Press the “Uninstall” Button.

    Remove Hotbar automatically
    1. Use Hotbar’s Uninstaller [Download]
    2. Use Symantec’s Adware.Hotbar Removal Tool [ Download ]
    3. eMCO Special Removal of Hotbar Adware [ Download ]

Hope your computer will be Hotbar free when you’ve used the removal method or tool above.

  • DJL – Steam Clone for Linux

Recently, someone emailed me to see how you could get Steam going in Linux and I replied with using Wine and PlayOnLinux, which managed to get their copy of Half Life 2 and Left for Dead 2 working, however, with glitches. When he further pressed me for more information on how to get it working without glitches, I told him what I hate saying myself: seeing as there is no official Steam client for Linux (yet?), there was no way to provide him with a solid solution. To sum up the rest of the emails, he turned extremely nasty, calling me a liar for calling Linux a good alternative to Windows and that it is a load of garbage and should never be released until it was on par with Windows.

Now, as nasty as that sounds, it didn’t tick me off, nor did I try to talk him into some of the advantages that Linux has over Windows. While Linux is not as experienced in driver compatibilities and in game selections, this is a common problem. As as you can see by my weekend gaming posts, it is hard to dig up decent games that are at a level of completeness that can compete with Windows games.

DJL aims to change all this, as well as making life extremely simple for those that use Linux. DJL, as the title suggests, is an extremely proficient clone of Steam, allowing for Linux users to download and install Linux games no matter which OS they’re using. I used this program on Salix Linux and despite a hiccup on downloading, I had no problem whatsoever. Some screenshots below depict how it looks and acts like.

    Installer for installing games

    Game Launching screen

While the project itself has not been updated since 2009, it still works fine and leads me to believe that it is still possible to use this for a while longer as the servers are still up. At times it does suffer from some downtime but it is nothing if not incredibly useful to Linux users. Like Steam, you can also make desktop shortcuts so you can play your games without problems… but unlike Steam, once the games are downloaded and installed, they are stored on your local hard drive, rather then letting you stream and play online. I found it to be an interesting take in terms of installing, because this eliminates the need to compile games from source and allow you to instantly play the games you want when you want.

I will be honest and admit I did face a hiccup in playing the games, after one reboot, I had no games I could install or play that were installed, but deleting some hidden files (.djl folder inside your home folder, hit Control+H to show hidden files) made it work again. I also had a problem in connecting but that was because I had a poor connection that night. All in all, DJL is an interesting way of keeping Linux users entertained, that’s for sure! To run it, all you have to do is right click on the ‘sh’ script you download, edit it’s associations under properties, and let sh be what runs it, then double click on it. The rest couldn’t be easier.

  • Another NEW Wrestling Torrent tracker site

Can’t sign-up at PWTorrents? Don’t like Xtreme Wrestling Torrents? FullContactZone is not 100% wrestling related torrent tracker site? Now you can’t download any wrestling series because you have a problem with all existing wrestling torrent tracker site? Don’t worry, I am here to bring you another new site of wrestling torrent tracker site that I’ve just found.
This new wrestling torrent tracker site is newly registered on 03 May 2006 which is not even 1 month old.

The new wrestling torrent tracker site is…
    World Wrestling Torrent tracker site

    www.wrestling-torrents.com
Everything on the site looks new. Their main site logo looked stretched. Well, give them a little bit of time and hopefully they’ll improvise their wrestling torrent tracker site. From the domain contact information, looked like this World Wrestling Torrent site owned by person from from India.

After sign up, use torrent client such as µTorrent to load the .torrent files and continue download your favourite wrestling show.

P/S: I’ve read some posts in PWTorrents forum, it seems that PWTorrents and Xtreme Wrestling Torrents are not in good terms with WWT(World Wrestling Torrents).

Note: Please seed after you’ve completed downloading. If you hit-and-run, meaning downloading and not seeding, your account might be banned like what most torrent tracker site does. Remember, if there are no seeders, you won’t get to download in the first place. Enjoy, wrestling fans!

  • Use Transmission as a Torrent Client via the Web

Many people under Windows use uTorrent for downloading torrent files as it is one of the best clients in terms of features and functionality combined with it’s small size. And under Linux and Mac, at least at present, we don’t have uTorrent, though a Mac beta is currently in development and at times, uTorrent works under Wine. But the thing is, under Wine at least, uTorrent has had it’s own fair share of bugs I’ve encountered, such as it not starting or worse still, not able to install. While recently, a lot of the bugs have been ironed out, I’ll stick to Transmission for the time being, being a highly capable replacement for Linux. And today, I’m going to show you the only feature I missed when using uTorrent: the web interface.

Don’t get me wrong when I say Transmission has a web interface by assuming that on uTorrent there is none. Many people don’t use it for reasons I’m not quite sure, but I know myself I would be quite unhappy without them, because it helps me download some Linux ISOs faster then even the high speed connections I get at school. And when I say they are high speed, they were clocked at around 20mbps the last I checked: speeds only most of us can dream of. But of course, there are some distros that encourage users to download the torrents rather then using the direct links, due to the fact that they can be faster and you don’t need to use a download manager for them. Such examples would be Ubuntu, Debian, and Fedora. And as the case was pointed out on the forum, a torrent also offers stability when it comes to downloads. So how on Earth do we set up something so useful for us on the Linux machine?

    Transmission Web Interface

Surprisingly enough, it’s not that hard. Open up the main client, then go to the Edit menu, then Preferences. Under the Web tab, simply check the Enable web client and set the port number to a safe port. I set mine to 9000, but that’s because I know nothing uses that, other good choices would be on anything above 1024 but below 49151, as not many programs use those ports. To prevent anyone else from accessing your now online Transmission client, you may also password protect it and even control which IPs can access your client, allowing for a wild card to be entered via an asterisk (*). All these options are simple to set as you can see below.

Overall, the setting up of the web client for Transmission is extremely easy and this will be able to help you control your downloads a little more. Like I said, I’ve personally used this to ease the server load on a Linux distribution’s site and considering how easy it is to set up, I’d recommend it for any other torrent downloaders. The only thing is, if you’re using a router or modem, you will have to set up port forwarding on it to allow for you to access your client while you’re out and about. Other then that, there shouldn’t be any problems whatsoever! I take no responsibility in what you download, so if you chose to break copyright law, that comes on your shoulders, not mine. And if you wish to use other features of Transmission, they have add-ons that are hosted on their main site. Happy downloading!

  • BlogPatrol now 100% working

    BlogPatrol
When I started this blog, I used sitemeter and BlogPatrol. Out of this 2 sites that offers free web statistic, I prefer BlogPatrol because of the “Keywords and Search Engines” activity statistic. However, few months back, I logged in to BlogPatrol and found that the code to track visitors has been changed. So I immediately copied the new code to my WordPress. I started to notice that my daily visitor activity remains at “0″ everyday while sitemeter still display hits. I bet something was wrong with the BlogPatrol’s new code. I also noticed that LiewCF and Kahsoon no longer use BlogPatrol as well because I could no longer see the BlogPatrol’s icon.

I emailed BlogPatrol about this problem. They knew about this problem and worked on the fix. After 3 times of testing the codes, BlogPatrol is now working again.

  • Be Wiser by Learning from Video Tutorial Websites

Ever wondered why some people can be so smart in doing everything? No matter what they do, they seems to have an easier way of doing it rather than us struggling to get it right? I found a blog site that has a list of websites containing library of free video lessons, video tutorials, video lectures & video how to guides. It’s much better than those websites that provide written tips because you don’t get to see how it’s being done. If you have a video that shows you how to do it, accompanied with written instructions, the chances of you getting it wrong is very slim. There are thousands of how to video tutorials FREE for you to view! Some of the weird and interesting ones are like “How To Fold A T-Shirt In 2 Seconds”, “How To Undo Her Bra With One Hand” and etc… It has videos on every category you can think of.

Just to make it short, Digital Inspiration listed 4 video tutorial websites.
    VideoJug.com
    VideoJug
Notes about VideoJug: Of all video tutorial websites, I liked this the most. You can download the videos but it requires you to sign up for free. VideoJug project was started by a person named David Tabizel. He is in his early forties, married with 2 children & have a Golden Retriever called Monty. This idea came about when he had a flat tyre and looked on the Internet for a film to help him, but to no avail. VideoJug relies on advertising and sponsorship to maintain this free service.

    SuTree.com
    SuTree
Notes about SuTree: There are currently 5043 lessons in SuTree. SuTree does not host the videos on their website and is an online aggregator of video tutorials from various video hosting websites such as YouTube, metacafe and etc…

    5min.com
    5min video tutorial
Notes about 5min: The reason this website is called 5min because of a very simple one: any solution can be visually explained in no more than 5 minutes. None of the tutorial videos at this website is longer than 5 minutes. To view the videos, you need to have the latest version of Adobe Flash player.

Notes about About.com videos: A lot of videos as well and I have to agree with Digital Inspiration that their web design can be better. This current one looks old, boring and full of advertisements. You can’t download the videos here and also they don’t provide the URL for you to share or embed the video to your website.

No matter what I wrote above, all 4 video tutorial websites above is great! What you want is to learn from the videos to make you wiser.

  • Professionalized your Internet Explorer 7

IE7ProYou can professionalized your IE7 using IE7Pro add-on. IE7Pro is an add-on for Internet Explorer 7 which adds lots of features and extras that make your IE easier, more useful, more secure and more customizable. IE7Pro doesn’t make any changes on the looks of Internet Explorer. This add-on will include some functions in your Internet Explorer browser that by default already has in Firefox browser. So is IE still behind Firefox? It’s an argument that would go on forever!

Like I said before, I use both browsers because some page loads better in Firefox and some in IE7. So I constantly find ways to improve my Firefox and IE browser. IE7Pro is FREE and the installation setup is only 520KB in size. After installation, you’ll find IE7Pro settings at Tools -> IE7pro Preferences. There might be a small icon on the top right of your Internet Explorer browser.
    IE7Pro Icon
Clicking on the icon also brings up the IE7Pro settings.

One of the default feature I like in Firefox is crash recovery. Let’s say your browser suddenly hung because of one stupid website and you need to end the process. When you start back the Firefox browser, you’ll loose all the page you were viewing. Crash recovery enables gives you the option to bring back all the tabs and windows you were viewing. That’s handy! Now you can have that in your Internet Explorer with IE7Pro. When you reopen Internet Explorer after crashing, it will prompt if you want to restore your last session.
    Restore crashed browsing session

You can also spoof your User-Agent so that websites wouldn’t know the actual browser you’re using. Another very good option for people who like anonymity is proxy. You can enter a proxy address and then press CTRL+F9 to toggle it on or off. I think they can improvise it by entering a list of proxies instead of only 1 proxy address.

If you have a fast connection, you can improve the speed of loading the page by setting the maximum connections per server. This determines the number of parts of a webpage (i.e. images, HTML) that IE will download at once. The default is four; if you have a fast connection then setting it to 10 (or possibly higher) may speed up page load times.

It has a lot of other nice features which might be helpful to you. Do check it out!

  • BEST RapidShare Free Premium Account Checker

I’ve posted two free tool called RapidCheck and CMS RSFAN v1.0 that is able to check for RapidShare’s free premium account at a given interval 2 weeks ago.

Today, I found another one which I can say is the best because it can support future RapidShare changes and also features the AUTOMATIC RapidShare Free Premium Account registration. It’s fully automatic. All you need to do is to download, install, do a little simple configurations, minimize it to tray and forget about it until the tool found a free rapidshare premium account. If you do not leave your computer on for 24 hours, you can set it to start with windows to immediately check for RapidShare Free Premium Account.

A person from Greece, who is very much interested in software assembly, analyzing of software protections and cryptography has programmed a free tool called “RapidShare Free Account Check [ViR-Q]” which in my opinion is the best RapidShare free premium account checker out there.

    RapidShare Free Premium Account

You might notice that this tool doesn’t have fancy interface but I assure you that the functions are very complete.

Feature of RapidShare Free Account Check [ViR-Q]:

      1. Define the minutes you’d like the program to check for free RapidShare premium accounts
      2. Automatic free RapidShare premium account registration
      3. Check RapidShare’s file link

  • NextGen AntiKeylogger Review – KeyScrambler Alternative

I have been feeling safe for a while because of using LastPass which auto fills my username and password on web forms and also using KeyScrambler when I needed to type password into applications such as Windows Live Messenger, PuTTy, CuteFTP and etc… KeyScrambler seems light with very little memory usage but it does make me feel that there’s a little lag especially during typing because it needs to encrypt and decrypt the keystrokes. From my KeyScrambler review post, there is a commenter from Poland suggesting NextGen AntiKeylogger, a KeyScrambler alternative.

I checked out the official website of NextGen AntiKeylogger and the features are quite similar to KeyScrambler with also 3 version (free, pro and ultimate). Fortunately MaxSecurity Lab, the company that creates NextGen AntiKeylogger offers fully functional 15 days trial. I downloaded NextGen AntiKeylogger 3.3 Ultimate and installed on my test computer to see if it can prevent keyloggers from logging my keystrokes.

I tried typing on Notepad in Windows 7 32-bit and see if the 7 keyloggers plus 3 Remote Administration Tool trojan that has keylogger function is able to capture the encrypted or clear text.

    REFOG Keylogger – FAIL
    Elite Keylogger – FAIL
    Award Keylogger Pro – PASS
All In One Keylogger – PASS
    Ardamax Keylogger – PASS
    Revealer Keylogger Pro – PASS
    WebWATCHER – PASS
    DarkComet RAT – PASS
    CyberGate RAT – PASS
    BlackShades RAT – PASS

From the results above, NextGen AntiKeylogger is unable to protect keystrokes against REFOG Keylogger and Elite Keylogger as they are able to capture real text instead of the encrypted text. If you look at the NextGen AntiKeylogger official website, it says “NextGen AntiKeylogger, as seen from its name, is the next generation anti-keylogger program which protects your data against all types of keylogging programs both known, unknown or being developed right now”. As you can see how important it is to really put a software into test rather than spending 30 minutes or less “blogging” about it.

    NextGen AntiKeylogger

The first problem which I’ve encountered is it causes Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) when I run Google Chrome 11. My guess is NextGen AntiKeylogger is not yet updated to support the latest Chrome 11. If you didn’t know, keystroke encryption software such as KeyScrambler and NextGen AntiKeylogger only works on supported software and not all.

There is an interesting option which keeps the protection enabled even if NextGen AntiKeylogger is not running or terminated. I enabled the option, terminated the antikeylogger process (NextGenAkl.exe) from Windows Task Manager and the encryption immediately stop working. KeyScrambler wins on this one because this security feature is hard coded and you cannot enable or disable it.

NextGen AntiKeylogger doesn’t have a convenient hotkey to easily enable or disable the protection but KeyScrambler has it which is Ctrl + Shift + K by default. I programmed an executable macro using AutoHotkey to simulate the pressing the hotkey to see if I can disable KeyScrambler by just running it but KeyScrambler is not vulnerable to this flaw.

The only option that NextGen AntiKeylogger has but KeyScrambler doesn’t is the password protection where you can prevent unauthorized users from disabling the protection and accessing the options. KeyScrambler is slightly more expensive than NextGen AntiKeylogger but it is definitely worth the money.

  • FREE 1 Year a-squared Anti-Malware Genuine License for EVERYONE

You are going to love me for this. First, there was a trick on how to get Kaspersky Anti-Virus key for free and then Norton AntiBot. As for this week, let’s start off by getting ANOTHER leaked 1 year security software for free. a-squared Anti-Malware is able to detect and remove trojans, worms, keyloggers, dialer, spyware or adware from your PC, gives double realtime protection with signature scan and malware-IDS (HIPS).

free a-squared malware removerThe latest version of a-squared Anti-Malware supports Windows Vista, tweaked to use 50% less RAM, is able to detect more than 1 million different types of malware and also protects your computer against rootkits.

If you go to a-squared Anti-Malware website, you’ll find that a-squared Anti-Malware cost $39.95 for a year license but if you follow the steps which I am about to show you, you’re going to get the genuine license for free!

There are many anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-dialer software products but only a few of them can claim to provide effective protection from all types of Malware. The main reason for this is the eternal cat and mouse game played for decades between Malware programmers and the security industry. Normal security software is limited by the fact that it can only recognize Malware for which the manufacturer has already created a signature – assuming that the manufacturer even has a copy of the Malware available for analysis.

Emsi Software has now turned the tables and no longer trails behind the Malware authors. a-squared Anti-Malware does not identify damaging software purely on the basis of signatures, but also looks at how it behaves. This means that you will be protected from the hundreds of new Trojans, Worms, Dialers, Rootkits and Spyware that appear every day.

    FREE a-squared Anti-Malware license

    Features of a-squared Anti-Malware

  • Removes existing Malware on your PC
  • Protects against Trojan Horse attacks from the web
  • Protects against Worms (Worm-Viruses)
  • Protects against Dialers which change your dial-in number
  • Protects against Rootkits
  • Protects against Spyware which collects personal information
  • Secures the computer against harmful software
  • Gives you control over the procedures inside the PC
  • Here are the steps on how to get free a-squared Anti-Malware license to protect you from malwares for 365 days.

    1. Create a new user account. You need to enter a name, e-mail address and click “Create User Account” button. Make sure you use a real email address because a random generated password will be sent there.

    2. Now check the email address that you’ve entered earlier. You should get an email from a-squared Control Center (donotreply@www.emsisoft.com) with the subject “Your user account information‏”. If you didn’t get it, check your spam/junk folder. The password is in the email.

    3. Type in your username and password (shown on the email) to login to the Customer Center.

    4. After you’ve successfully logged in, click on Manage Licenses at the left side of the page. Then click the “Convert a coupon code” link.

    5. Enter nanova5736 as coupon code and hit Convert button. You should then see that it has added a-squared Anti-Malware to the list.
    free a-squared anti malware

    6. Download a-squared Anti-Malware and install.

    7. After installation completed, run a-squared Anti-Malware. You’ll be prompted to enter an account to login. Enter the same email address and password that you entered in Customer Center on the program and click Log in.
    a-squared anti-malware

    8. It will show that you have a “full version license” installed.
    a-squared full version license installed

It seems that a-squared Anti-Malware is more concentrated on detecting known and unknown trojan but not virus. It has a very huge signatures to detect malwares but as for virus, it only depends on behavior blocker module (Malware-IDS). There’s a huge difference between virus and trojan. Virus usually causes damages in Windows system but Trojans is used to gain unauthorized access to the user’s computer.

This license is from PC Advisor UK. Thanks Combola for sharing this tip with us!

  • Download Subtitles for Movies with Free Sublight

Manually searching for subtitles for your movies can be a waste of time because there are so many versions and languages, most of the time I ended up testing one by one until I found one that matches the movie and doesn’t go out of sync. More than a year ago I found 2 useful software called Oscar and SubDownloader that is able to search for subtitle that will definitely match your video file using hashing algorithm.

Well both of these tools used to be free and user friendly but now, SubDownloader has turned into shareware that cost €15 if you’re using Windows and Oscar requires an annoying registration which only searches from one subtitle engine. I am not sure when did this happened but nowadays I’ve started to watch a lot of movies and I needed an alternative for Oscar and SubDownloader. Thank God I found Sublight!

Sublight is simple application which allows you to download subtitles for your movies.
    sublight search correct subtitle
    Sublight Features:

  • auto subtitle search
  • manual search
  • preview subtitle before download
  • subtitle ratings and commenting
  • subtitle lists: “New”, “Favorites”, “Published by me” and “Downloaded by me”
  • subtitle download statistics
  • all subtitles in primary database are saved in Unicode encoding
  • Windows Explorer integration (optional)
  • video playback for downloaded subtitles (with just one double click)
  • video codec detection
  • support for VLC, BS.Player, Media Player Classic, KMPlayer, Windows Media Player, Zoom Player and GOM player
  • registered users can publish new subtitles (registration is free and very simple)
  • easy to use and modern user interface (featuring Ribbon like UI)
  • auto update capability
  • you can remove [i] tags from your subtitles
  • plugin framework for searching subtitles from other sources
  • available in English, Spanish, Slovenian and Serbian language
  • support for OpenSubtitles.org, Podnapisi.NET, DivxFinland.org, subdivx.com and divx-titlovi.com database
  • SublightCmd command line interface for advanced users (can be used for auto subtitle download, movie title detection, .NFO generator, …)
  • application is 100% clean, which means it does not contain any form of malware and is completely free
  • Sublight interface is a little huge compared to Oscar and SubDownloader which I’ve used before. To search for a subtitle for your movie file, click the Choose button at the criteria for auto search box and browse for the AVI video file. At the right hand side, you can choose what language of subtitle that you want to search for. Finally click the search button. The first one is usually colored which means it is linked to the video file. You can double click to play video with subtitle or just download the subtitle to view it later.

Do take note that Sublight requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and above to run.

  • Latest Windows Genuine Advantage Validation v1.7.36.0 Cracked

I just found the latest Windows Genuine Advantage Validation v1.7.36.0 cracked by Team ETH0. Release date of this cracked WGA is on 17 May 2007.
    Crack Windows Genuine Advantage 1.7.36
I checked both Wikipedia and also Microsoft Download Center, both websites shows that the latest version of Windows Genuine Advantage is 1.7.0018.1. I went to Windows Updates for custom check and it didn’t prompt me to download and install new Windows Genuine Advantage.

I guess either this latest WGA 1.7.36.0 is a beta version or Microsoft is slowly rolling it out region by region.

As usual, extract the downloaded archive file into a new empty folder and run installer.bat. Everything else is automated. If you get any of the error messages below, don’t panic. It’s most probably you did not even have the original WGA installed.
    – “The process “wgatray.exe” not found”
    – “Could Not Find C:\Windows\system32\wgatray.exe.old”
    – “Could Not Find C:\Windows\system32\wgalogon.dll.old”
    – “The system cannot find the file specific”

The most important message to know that it has successfully copied the cracked LegitCheckControl.dll, WgaLogon.dll and WgaTray.exe is when you see the message like the picture below.
    WGA 1.7.36.0 crack

As usual, this cracked Windows Genuine Advantage Validation v1.7.36.0 files only enable you to use Windows Update, Microsoft Download Center and also removes the Windows Genuine Advantage Notification nag screens. And still, this does NOT work with Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Media Player 11 because both uses their own WGA check that is in their install program.
