    Paris Hilton was unhurt early Wednesday in a car accident as she left a Hollywood nightclub.
    They decided to leave the scene because the paparazzi was there.
    Hilton was a passenger in a silver Bentley that a companion drove into the back of a large commercial truck, scratching the hood of the car.
    The mishap was captured on videotape and aired on television and the Internet.

    Luckily she did not get hurt or else, there goes her pretty face.
    Thinking about it, I don’t think it’s gonna be a problem if anything happens to her pretty face as Plastic Surgery is so common nowadays.

    This is bad… What I really detest most is there are people smoking in lift even though there’s a BIG no-smoking sign. It’s just simple common sense not to smoke in lift because the ventilation is very bad in there. Moreover, it shows how inconsiderate and ignorant he is towards rules and regulations.

    My average monthly electricity bill is around $70.
    I use the air-cond 2 hours a day, leave only 1 fluorescent light at the kitchen on when I sleep, refrigerator and computer is on for 24 hours, use washing machine twice a week… and a few more small little things.
    I felt it’s quite expensive since I don’t use much electricity and I am charged for that amount.

    My computer has been down for a month and surprisingly, my electricity bill dropped to $35!
    It seems that my computer electricity cost $1 per day for 24 hours.

    Do you think it’s cheap?
    If your answer is NO, how about using a solar array system to get cheap electricity? Or even getting your meter to spin backwards and get those Electric companies to pay you for generating power for them?

    However, I’m not even sure how legal is this… Some people says that it’s legal in some part of Australia and USA.
    It will be “VERY” useful if it’s legal in Malaysia because there is sun all year round.

  • Webcam Saves Woman’s Life

    OSLO, Norway — A Web camera made it possible for two men to get help for their mother after she collapsed at her home, even though she was thousands of miles away.

    Karin Jordal, a 69-year-old Norwegian artist living in Pinon Hills, Calif., collapsed in her living room Thursday. The woman, who is diabetic, lay motionless on a couch when her son Tore, who was in the Philippines, saw her through her Web cam.

    Tore had initially tried to call her and got no answer, then tried emergency authorities in California but couldn’t get through, said Tore’s brother Ole Jordal, who lives in the western Norwegian city of Bergen.

    Tore then phoned Ole, just as Ole and his wife Tammy were having breakfast. Tammy, an American who’s originally from Long Island, N.Y., knew just whom to call, Ole said.

    “It took five or 10 minutes for the ambulance personnel to arrive,” he said Friday.

    Ole Jordal said the family was on the verge of tears when they watched on the Web camera as ambulance personnel assisted their diabetic mother, who is recovering at Desert Valley Hospital in California.

    “I thank that camera and my sons for my life,” Karin Jordal told the Norwegian newspaper Bergens Tidende by telephone from her hospital bed. She has lived in the United States and Spain on and off for the past 15 years.

    Ole Jordal said low blood sugar caused his mother’s collapse, and that she would stay in the hospital for a few days before going home. Ole said the family had set up Web cameras in their homes because of the high cost of staying in touch by telephone.

    “But now I see the Internet as a way to save lives. It’s also a wonderful tool for people who live alone in some remote area, and might need help,” he said.

    The mother had been unconscious for about two hours before her sons checked in, so there was also an element of luck, since they only use the camera a few times a week.

    P/S: My opinion, leaving your webcam on at inappropriate moments can seriously ruin your life.

  • How to calculate electricity usage and charges

    For a very long time I’ve wanted to know how much is the charges if I use an electrical appliances such as my computer, air-conditioner, water heater and etc…
    When I was very young, my mother used to tell me that air conditioner, water heater and iron consume a lot of electricity, and therefore, it’s expensive to use them. Even worst if you’ve forgotten to turn them off!

    Every electrical appliance should have Watt (W).
    This is the info that you need to calculate the usage of the electrical appliances that you use in hours.
    Some doesn’t display Watt, but only Volt (V) and Ampere (A).
    To get Watt, just multiple volt and ampere. Meaning, V x A = W or A x V = W. It’s the same.

    In Malaysia, Tenaga Nasional Berhad(TNB) charges for home usage electricity is:
    For the first 200 units per month: 0.218 cents
    For the next 800 units per month: 0.258 cents
    For each additional units per month: 0.278 cents

    Formula to calculate electricity usage.


    W x Hours / 1000 = kWh
    Then first 200 kWh is used to multiply with 0.218, then the next 800 kWh multiply with 0.258.

    Now you’ve got all the information that you need to calculate, let’s try calculating something.
    If you use a Philips 14W bulb for 10 hours a day a month. How much is the charges?
    Calculate electricity usage and charges

  • x = multiply
  • / = divide

    • 14W x 10Hours / 1000 = 0.14 kWh
    0.14kWh x 0.218(rate) = RM0.03052 per day
    For a whole month, just multiply RM0.03052 with 30 because a month consist of 30 days.
    RM0.03052 x 30 = RM0.9156

    No wonder the Philips 14W bulb is called the Energy Saver. You’ll only need to pay less than a dollar if you turn on the light for 10 hours a day.
    The calculation formula is the same thoughout the whole world, except for the Rates offered by their country’s electricy provider.

    Let’s try another calculation.
    You boil water everyday for one hour using Panasonic’s fast boiling with high power heater (2.4kW) kettle.
    How much is the charges for the whole month?
    Calculate electricity usage and charges
    2.4kW x 1hour = 2.4kWh
    2.4kWh x RM0.218 = RM0.5232
    For the whole month, RM0.5232 x 30 = RM15.696

    It’s quite expensive to boil water everyday for an hour. But since this is a fast boiling with high power heater, I don’t think you’ll need an hour to boil water. I just gave an example of boiling water an hour for easy understanding and calculation.

    Hope this information will help you determine to buy electrical appliances that don’t use so much energy.
