  • 24 hours website downtime

GRRRR! My site has been down for nearly 24 hours since yesterday and when I woke up today, thank God it’s working. However, I am still unable to access my domain’s CPanel and also my e-mails.

Reason for downtime from my webhost:

We have received information that the kernel versions installed in the servers are vulnerable (though they are new) , and needs upgrade very shortly.
Inorder to make the system foolproof, we shall be taking down the server for immediate maintanence tomorrow at 3.00 am GMT. The server will be undergoing a re-image, and we would be restoring the accounts from a backup at least “ONE WEEK OLD“.
This is to ensure that we donot have any suspicious contents on the websites. Therefore, we would advise you to make any changes on your domains after the server upgrade only.

The info above is gotten from my webhost site. I think it’s just not fair to bring down out site like that without even notifying us through email. Restoring backup at least one week old is not very acceptable because I post everyday and I will loose 7 posts. Luckily they’ve only reverted back to one day before and I only lost 1 day’s post after I complained to them.
If I am not mistaken, they have like 20 over servers and they are re-imaging all servers. So please bear with us until everything is completed.

Everyone around the house was so excited and when I asked them what is the name of the baby going to be, they told me that they haven’t figure it out! They didn’t even want to know whether it’s a boy or a girl because they wanted it to be a surprise and no matter which gender, they’ll still be very happy with it.
They asked me to suggest a few nice baby names for them to choose since I was the first one to ask.
Obviously, it’s gonna be Raymond! But too bad, according to many websites that displays top 100 baby names, Raymond is not even on the list!

  • Stop smoking?

Let’s face it – Smoking isn’t good for you, no matter what the excuse is.
Some might say that it is a bad habit, and thus harder to kick.

Why not try the Cigarette Counter instead?
    The Cigarette Counter
It is a simple device that helps you be aware of your smoking frequency and you can set a personal goal to limit the number of cigarettes that you puff each day.

The Cigarette Counter clips to the top side of the cigarette pack.
    It has four buttons::
    Reset/ Add/ Subtract/ On-Off
and has a display that shows the numbers.

The counter keeps the selected numbers in memory even when off… this allows to turn it off when it’s not being used so that accidental pressure of the buttons doesn’t distort the count.
The purpose of the Cigarette Counter is to give smokers a tangible way to control their habit.
By pushing the button and viewing the number of cigarettes we’ve smoked already, we become more aware of what we’re doing! Most of the times who smokes does so in an automatic, non-conscious way, often without control..

    Weird and unbelievable stuff eh?
