If your computer passed the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor RC1 Build 1.0.0000.309 that I posted yesterday, then you can download the official Windows Vista RC1 from Microsoft website to try out Windows Vista.
To install Windows Vista RC1, a product key is needed. Customer Preview Program(CPP) participants should receive an email which contains download links for Windows Vista RC1 and a product registration key necessary to install RC1. I read in some forums that they were unable to use the old Windows Vista Beta 2 key to activate RC1. If you’re not CPP participants yet, or don’t have any RC1 product key available to you, you can try to ask around for the installation key from friends, colleagues or Internet community, as each key entitles users to install Windows Vista on up to 10 PCs using the same product key, and activates the PC.
There’s a patch I found that is able to crack and reset the activation 14 days timer. Meaning if your 14 days trial is nearly up, just run the patch and it’s back to 14 days remaining again.
